CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
AUTHORIZING METRO ELEVATOR, INC. TO REPAIR CITY HALL ELEVATOR
WHEREAS, damage occurred to the City Hall elevator in early November 2014
when the sump pump station located in the basement failed causing water to back up
into the elevator pit; and
WHEREAS, the state elevator inspector ordered the elevator out of service until
the necessary repairs can be made to the damaged elevator components; and
WHEREAS, City staff solicited and received two quote proposals from qualified
contractors ranging from $12,756 to $22,306 to make the necessary repairs to the
elevator as documented in the state inspector's report; and
WHEREAS, Metro Elevator, Inc. of Hopkins, Minnesota provided the lowest
quote proposal to repair the elevator.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows:
1. Metro Elevator, Inc. of Hopkins, Minnesota is authorized to make repairs to the City
Hall elevator as described in their quote proposal and in accordance with the state
inspector report for $12,756.
2. A 10% contingency for $1,275 is approved to be used for unexpected costs not
included in the quote proposal that are required for the repair and to bring the
elevator back into service.
Adopted this 8th day of December, 2014.
