STATE OF MINNESOTA
APPROVING PURCHASE 2-POST ROTARY TL07 SURFACE MOUNTED ELECTRIC-
HYDRAULIC LIFT
WHEREAS, Public Works Department maintenance program includes performing
preventative maintenance and unexpected repairs on mowers and smaller motorized
equipment, and;
WHEREAS, employees are required to get under the equipment, this is done by
utilizing a floor jack and placing portable jack stands to help support the piece of equipment,
and;
WHEREAS, the City Council understands this is not safe nor the best practice, as it
does put employees in a potentially dangerous situation, and;
WHEREAS, the Public Works Staff has been looking into a number of options best
suited to perform this work and keep employees safe, and,
WHEREAS, Public Works staff received a quote from Pump and Meter out of
Hopkins, MN, for a 2-post Rotary TL07 surface mounted lift; and,
WHEREAS, the lift is in the 2014 Budget in account 100-4465-7030, budgeted at
$6,000.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds
View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows:
1. The City hereby accepts the quote of $6,050.10, submitted by the Pump and
Meter Service Inc. of Hopkins, MN.
2. Public Works staff is authorized to purchase Rotary TL07 2-post surface
mounted lift electric—hydraulic operation.
3. Payment for the unit funded from the Capital Equipment fund 100-4465-7030.
4. A 10% contingency of $605.00 is approved for any unforeseen electrical work or
other costs that may be required for installation to be funded from 100-4460-
5110.
