RESOLUTION NO. 6251 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA PROCLAMING THE WEEK OF MAY 9,2004 THROUGH MAY 15, 2004 AS "NATIONAL POLICE WEEK" WHEREAS, on October 1, 1962 President John F. Kennedy signed public law 87-726 which declared May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day to honor the Federal, State, and municipal officers who die or are disabled in the line of duty; and WHEREAS, the calendar week of each year during which May 15 occurs was designated as National Police Week; and WHEREAS, the Police Officers of Mounds View have worked devotedly and selflessly in behalf of the people of this City, regardless of the peril or hazard to themselves; and WHEREAS, these officers by their patriotic service and their dedicated efforts have earned the gratitude of the City. NOW, THEREFORE, I, Jerry Linke, Mayor of the City of Mounds View, do hereby proclaim the week of May 9 through May 15, 2004 as NATIONAL POLICE WEEK in The City of Mounds View, and I call upon all citizens and civic organizations to show appreciation to the loyal law enforcement officers of the Mounds View Police Department.
