RESOLUTION 6256
CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
ADOPTING THE MOUNDS VIEW VALUES STATEMENT
WHEREAS, in March of 2004, the City Council and Department Heads held a
"Leadership - Planning - Team Building" retreat; and
WHEREAS, the City Council and Department Heads discussed the past, present, and
future and responded with a plan to address the challenges facing the City of Mounds View; and
WHEREAS, The City Council and Department Heads developed a shared vision for
success by agreeing on a Mounds View Values Statement, which reads:
Mounds View Values Statement
1. Excellence and Quality in the Delivery of Services
We believe that service to the public is our reason for being and
strive to deliver quality services in a highly professional and cost-
effective manner.
2.
Fiscal Responsibility
We believe that fiscal responsibility and the prudent stewardship of
public funds is essential for citizen confidence in government.
3.
Ethics and Intearity
We believe that ethics and integrity are the foundation blocks of
public trust and confidence and that all meaningful relationships are
built on these values.
4. Treatina Citizens with Respect
We believe that citizens are to be treated with courtesy and respect
and deserve the best services we can provide.
5. Open and Honest Communication
We believe that open and honest communication is essential for an
for an informed and involved citizenry and to foster a positive
working environment for employees.
6. Cooperation and Teamwork
We believe that the public is best served when departments and
employees work cooperatively as a team rather than at cross
purposes.
7.
Professionalism
We believe that continuous improvement is the mark of
professionalism and are committed to applying this principle to the
services we offer and the development of our employees.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mounds View City Council hereby
adopt the City of Mounds View Values Statement.
