RESOLUTION NO. 6287
CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
Approving Intent to Eliminate
School Coordinator Funding from the 2005 Budget
WHEREAS, Over the past several years, the City has contributed approximately $7,500 per
year toward a School Coordinator position; and,
WHEREAS, the Mounds View Council and the YMCA Advisory Committee have reviewed
the School Coordinator fees in detail and concluded that the City recreational programs do
not directly benefit: and,
WHEREAS, it is recognized that both the basketball association and the swim club provide
valuable recreational opportunities for Mounds View youth, but that the City itself is facing a
severe budget cut backs in 2005 and has a need to look at budget reductions: and,
WHEREAS, youth athletic groups have been notified that the Council is considering this item
at this time and will have an opportunity to plan for the potential 2005 impact.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council does hereby
approve Resolution 6287, that it is the intent of the City to eliminate funding of the School
Coordinator fee from the General Fund budget in 2005.
Adopted this 28th day of June 2004.
