CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
APPROVING THE ADDITIONAL DESIGN SERVICES, BIDDING DOCUMENTS AND
AUTHORIZING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR THE 2015 MASONRY RESTORATION A
THE GROUND RESERVOIR, BOOSTER STATION, AND WELL HOUSE NO. 2
WHEREAS, the City owns sixteen separate facilities; all of which were inspected and
evaluated in 2012 and summarized in an Exterior Wall Management Program put together by
INSPEC, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, the masonry restoration of the Ground Reservoir, Booster Station, and Well
House No. 2 are recommended in the Exterior Wall Management Program; and
WHEREAS, on September 23, 2013, the City Council authorized INSPEC, Inc. to design
and prepare bidding documents for the 2015 masonry restoration of said facilities (Res. 8158);
and
WHEREAS, the City requested changes to be made to the scope and design requiring
an additional $4,800 with the potential ad of $3,000 for hazardous waste sub-consultant
services; and,
WHEREAS, monies are included in the 2015 budget for the above said masonry
restoration.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View,
Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows:
1. The updated bidding documents, plans and specifications prepared by INSPEC, Inc. for the
2015 Masonry Restoration of the Ground Reservoir, Booster Station & Well House No. 2
Project (City Project No. 2015-0O2) are hereby approved.
2. Staff is hereby directed to cause to be published in the Sun-Focus newspaper and in a
regional trade publication, at least three weeks before the last day to submit bids, a notice to
bidders for the implementation of said project as required by law.
3. The time and date for receipt of bids for said project is hereby established as 10:00 a.m. on
March 31, 2015 in the Council Chambers at the Mounds View City Hall.
4. INSPEC, Inc. is authorized to perform bidding services and additional design services
associated with the project for an amount not to exceed $7,800.
5. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to execute all
appropriate documents to effectuate the actions contemplated by this Resolution.
6. The Mayor and City Administrator, staff and consultants are hereby authorized and
directed to take any and all additional steps and actions necessary or convenient in
order to accomplish the intent of this Resolution.
