CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT'S 800 MHZ RADIO
ORDER
WHEREAS, the Ramsey County 800M Hz Public Safety Communications
System project has now progressed to the point where all law-enforcement
agencies, and fire departments, operating in Ramsey County need to place
orders for portable and mobile 800MHz radio's in order to take advantage of the
Federal Homeland Security Grants for the project and 2004 pricing from vendors;
and
WHEREAS, the Grants for the 800MHz Public Safety Communications
System administered by Ramsey County will cover approximately two thirds of
the cost the mobile and portable 800M Hz radio orders from Ramsey County
police and fire departments. Radio orders placed at this time will be charged to
the 2005 budget; and

WHEREAS, the portable and mobile radios required by the Police
Department including tax total: $100,623.68. The project Grants will cover
$72,279.00. The license fees for the 800MHz radios required for 2005 will be
$3700 and the installation cost for the mobile radios is anticipated to be $2200.
The total budget necessary for making the 800MHz project operational for the
Police Department in 2005 is: $34, 244.61.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mounds View City
Council does hereby authorize the Police Department to place its order for the
800M Hz radio's to be paid from the 2005 budget.
