CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE BANQUET CENTER MANAGEMENT,
CATERING AND FOOD SERVICE AGREEMENT WITH CANYON GRILLE
BEGINNING NOVEMBER 1, 2004
WHEREAS, the City is the owner of the Mounds View Community Center
at 5394 Edgewood Drive in the City of Mounds View, and the Mounds View
Banquet Center (MVBC) is located in the MV. Community Center; and,
WHEREAS, on June 28, 2004 the City Council directed staff to initiate an
RFP process to obtain proposals from Twin Cities businesses to manage the
MVBC; and that information was provided to 16 companies; and,
WHEREAS, on August 23, 2004 the City of Mounds View selected
Canyon Grille as the new Manager of the MVBC following a Request for
Proposals (RFP) process; and,

WHEREAS, the City seeks to develop and implement a "Banquet Center
Management, Catering and Food Service Agreement" to succeed the Interim
Agreement that expires on October 31,2004; and,
WHEREAS, Canyon Grille, otherwise known as Canyon Catering, agrees
to lease 11,537 sq. ft. of space in the MV. Community Center, including the
ballroom, hallways, storage, and bathrooms; and,
WHEREAS, Canyon Catering agrees to pay a monthly lease amount of
$3,000 per month from November 2004 to June 2005, and 55,000 per month
from July 2005 to termination of the agreement; and,
WHEREAS, Canyon Catering has gone beyond what is required and
offered to invest in the first year over $14,000 of its own resources for kitchen
equipment, including a walk-in cooler and convection oven.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the Mounds View City
Council hereby approves the Management, Catering and Food Service
Agreement with Canyon Grille of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, operating as Canyon
Catering, as the next Manager for the Mounds View Banquet Center beginning
November 1, 2004.
