CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
A RESOLUTION APPROVING REPLACEMENT OF CARPET FOR THE POLICE
DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, carpeting throughout the police department is worn and unsightly, and in need of
replacement;
WHEREAS, attempts to clean severely soiled areas has proven costly and unsatisfactory;
WHEREAS, replacement of carpet in the two areas most in need, the police squad room and break
area, was budgeted for 2001 at an amount of $4,400.00;
WHEREAS, replacement of adjoining areas was to be budgeted for and completed in subsequent
years;
WHEREAS, to reduce work disruption as much as possible and ensure matching grade and
appearance of all carpeted areas, three bids for carpet replacement were obtained for the entire
area of the police department which is currently carpeted;
WHEREAS, the lowest of the three bids was from Cooper Bennet Floors in New Brighton at an
estimated replacement cost of $6,421.32;
WHEREAS, sufficient funds are available within the police department's equipment account to
cover the additional cost to replace the carpeting throughout the police department;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council for the City of Mounds View
approves the replacement of all carpeting in the police department by Cooper Bennet Floors of
New Brighton at an estimated cost of $6,421.32.
