January 18, 2002 Ms. Kathleen Miller City Administrator City of Mounds View 2401 County Highway 10 Mounds View, MN 55112 RE: One Day Gambling Permit for Rotary Fundraiser Dear Kathleen: The New Brighton - Mounds View Rotary Club is planning to host a "Gold Plate Dinner" fundraiser on Friday, April 5,2002 at the Mermaid (mark your calendarl). The event will require an exempt permit from the State of Minnesota because the raffle and bingo prizes will exceed $750.00. The application form that we obtained requires "Local Unit of Government Acknowledgment" be evidenced on the form before we send it in to the State. The State requires that they receive it 45 days before the event, so we should send it no later than February 18th, Enclosed is the completed State application form and a "proforma" budget for the fundraiser that gives quite a bit of detail on the scope of the event. The Club will be allocating profits to support scholarships, youth exchange, and local healthy youth initiatives. Thank you for agreeing to work with Givonna to ensure that City Council approval is processed in a timely manner. I will be out of town during the week of January 21st. If questions come up, please feel free to contact Mike Neeley...the event co-chair...at 651-636-6966, or Matt Fulton...club President... .at 651-638-2041.
