CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING OFFICER BOB NELSON TO ATTEND RESTORATIVE
JUSTICE-FAMILY GROUP CONFERENCING TRAINING IN GOSHEN, N.Y.
WHEREAS, the City Council has directed that all out-of-State travel for
Conferences be approved;
WHEREAS, the police department has secured a grant that will reimburse all
training and implementation expenses for Restorative Justice-Family Group
Conferencing initiatives;
WHEREAS, Restorative Justice training is available February 7-8,2002 in
Goshen, N.Y.;
WHEREAS, Officer Bob Nelson assigned as the School Resource Officer at
Edgewood Middle School, has numerous opportunities to utilize Restorative Justice-
Family Group conferencing techniques;
WHEREAS, Officer Nelson has expressed interest in obtaining training in the
Restorative Justice-Family Group Conferencing Program;

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, THAT the Mounds View City Council
does hereby approve Officer Nelson's request to attend the Restorative Justice-Family
Group Conferencing Training being offered February 7-8,2002 in Goshen, N.Y.
Adopted this 28th day of January 2002.
