<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 5719 <br /> <br />APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF WINDOWS BASED COMPUTER <br />SOFTWARE TO OPERATE THE HVAC SYSTEM AT THE COMMUNITY <br />CENTER <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council had previously approved the purchase of a <br />computer system to monitor and adjust the Heating, Ventilating and Air <br />Conditioning System (HVAC) at the Community Center; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said system is Dos based making it somewhat outdated and <br />difficult to use; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said Dos System has limitations running on the City's network <br />and is very cumbersome to use; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a new Windows based program has been developed to <br />replace the Dos version; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said new software has a promotion price of $2,025 only good <br />thru February; after that the software returns to its normal cost of $6,000; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there is a desire to upgrade to the new Windows based <br />software at this time and take advantage of the promotion price; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, staff has explored the use of the general software upgrade <br />account in the MIS budget and feels this purchase should not significantly impact <br />the MIS budget, <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, THAT the Mounds View City <br />Council does hereby approve the purchase of the new Windows based computer <br />software to operate the HVAC system at the Community Center at a cost of <br />$2,025. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, THAT funds in the <br />amount of $2,025 to purchase the new Windows based computer software to <br />operate the HVAC system at the Community Center will be derived from an <br />account within the Community Center budget. <br />
