RESOLUTION NO. 5796
APPROVING THE CONTRACT AWARD FOR PEST CONTROL AT CITY HALL
CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
WHEREAS, the City currently has a contract with Orkin Pest Control for service
at City Hall; and
WHEREAS, City Hall continues to have pest control problems; and
WHEREAS, to address the pest control problem at City Hall and to investigate if
the City is receiving the best value for pest control, staff solicited bids for pest control
service at City Hall; and
WHEREAS, two additional bids were received and compared to the current
contract with Orkin Pest Control; and
WHEREAS, the low bidder was Wil-Kil Pest Control with an annual bid of
$530.00;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED. THAT the Mounds View City Council does
hereby approve a contract, with Wil-Kil Pest Control for pest control service at City Hall.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, THAT the Mounds View City
Council does hereby cancel the current pest control contract with Orkin Pest Control for
service at City Hall.

RESOLUTION NO. 5797
CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION APPOINTING JEFF WIENKE TO A
VACANCY IN THE SEWER DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, staff was given direction to fill a vacancy in the Sewer Department;
and
WHEREAS, Article 16 of the Labor Agreement between the City of Mounds View
and the Public Works Department states that "permanent job vacancies within the
department shall be filled based on the concept of promotion from within provided that
applicants: have the necessary qualifications to meet the standards of the job vacancy
and have the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job vacancy; and
WHEREAS, said vacancy was published internally and interest in the position
was expressed by Jeff Wienke, who currently works in Parks Maintenance; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Director and Assistant City Administrator have met
with Mr. Wienke to discuss his interest and qualifications, as well as expectations for the
position; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Director and Assistant City Administrator are
recommending that Mr. Wienke be appointed to fill the vacancy in the Sewer
Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council does
hereby appoint Jeff Wienke to the vacancy in the Sewer Department effective July 29,
2002; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there will be no
compensation adjustments as Mr. Wienke is currently at the top of the pay scale for
Public Works Maintenance staff as per the Labor Agreement; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the City Council directs
staff to fill the vacancy in the Parks Department left vacant by Mr. Wienke's appointment
to the Sewer Department.
