HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 8449 RESOLUTION NO. 8449 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA AUTHORIZING BOLTON & MENK TO PERFORM ENGINEERING DESIGN SERVICES AND PREPARE BIDDING DOCUMENTS FOR AREA I OF THE STREET AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM WHEREAS, on October 22, 2007, the City Council adopted Resolution 7176 establishing the Street and Utility Improvement Program (Program) which includes nine Street and Utility Improvement Project areas identified as Areas A through I totaling 25.9 miles of streets, and; WHEREAS, Areas A through H have been or are under construction and total 22.6 miles of the Program, and; WHEREAS, Area I is the next project area to be constructed and is programmed for the 2016 construction season, and; WHEREAS, Bolton & Menk has provided a fee proposal to perform engineering design services and prepare bidding documents for the Area I project and Public Works engineering staff recommends Bolton & Menk to perform these services. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota, as follows: 1. Bolton & Menk is authorized to perform engineering design services and prepare bidding documents for Area I of the Street and Utility Improvement Program (City Project No. 2016-001). Compensation will be on an hourly basis plus reimbursable expenses with an estimated maximum fee of$165,860. 2. The Mayor and City Administrator are authorized to execute all appropriate documents and enter into a professional services agreement, for and on behalf of the City, with Bolton & Menk to effectuate the actions contemplated by this Resolution. 3. A contingency of $16,500 (10%) is approved for additional work or tests needed during the performance of the design services and requires pre-approval by the Director of Public Works. 4. The Mayor and City Administrator, staff and consultants are hereby authorized and directed to take any and all additional steps and actions necessary or convenient in order to accomplish the intent of this Resolution.
