RESOLUTION NO. 5902 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA RESOLUTION APPROVING SEVERANCE FOR GIVONNA REED WHEREAS, Givonna Reed has resigned from her position as Assistant City Administrator with the City of Mounds View effective December 31, 2002; and WHEREAS, Section 4,350: Separation Compensation of the City's personnel manual indicates that an employee will be compensated for accrued vacation time and 50% of accrued sick leave upon separation; and WHEREAS, the balance of accrued and unused vacation time was 115.56 on November 22, 2002 and the employee will accrue another 6.16 hours of vacation time through December 31,2002; for a potential total of 121.72 hours; and WHEREAS, the balance of accrued and unused sick leave time was 216.47 on November 22, 2002 and the employee will accrue another 7.40 hours of sick leave time through December 31,2002; for a potential total of 223.87 hours; and WHEREAS, Givonna Reed's current salary is $61,963.46 which translates to a rate of pay of $29.79 per hour; and WHEREAS, the maximum potential payout of vacation time will be 121.72 hours x $29.79 = $3,626.04 and the maximum potential payout of sick leave time will be 223.87 hours x 50% x $29,79 = $3,334,54 for a total of $6,960.58; and WHEREAS, Givonna Reed intends to use vacation time during the time between November 22,2002 and December 31,2002. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council approve a one-time payout of accrued and unused vacation time in an amount not to exceed $3,626,04 and 50% of accrued and unused sick leave in an amount not to exceed $3,334.54 as of December 31, 2002 to Givonna Reed and authorizes the Finance Department to recalculate these amounts on December 31, 2002 so as to deduct any vacation or sick leave used during the November 22 through December 31, 2002 period. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Finance Department verify that all flex time used be in accordance with section 3.05 of the Personnel Manual and to have the severance payment adjusted accordingly. Adopted this 9th day of December 2002.
