CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE NEWLY APPOINTED CHIEF OF POLICE TO
ATTEND THE MINNESOTA CHIEF LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER COMMAND
ACADEMY
WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View newly appointed Chief of Police, Mr.
Michael Sommer has submitted a request to attend the Law Enforcement Officer
Command Academy; and
WHEREAS, the Academy is held at Camp Ripley, Minnesota from
January 12, through January 16, 2003; and
WHEREAS, the cost for attendance, including room and board is $300;
and
WHEREAS, Deputy Chief Brennan is already registered to attend; and
. WHEREAS, the Director of the Academy has granted Mr. Sommer a
Spot in the course because he believes this would be a good opportunity for the newly
appointed Chief and the Deputy Chief work together; and
WHEREAS, the Mounds View City Council supports attendance at such
conferences; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has budgeted funds for such purposes;
WHEREAS, Mr. Sommer's start date will be January 12, 2003, at which
time Mr. Sommer will become eligible for benefits as outlined in the City's personnel
manual.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, THAT the Mounds View City Council
does hereby approve Mr. Sommers's request to attend the Minnesota Chief of Police
Law Enforcement Academy in Ripley, MN January 12 through January 16, 2003 for a
cost of $300.
