CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT TO
INVESTIGA TE THE PROCESS OF PLACING BILLBOARDS ON GOLF COURSE
AND ADJACENT CITY PROPERTY, INCLllDING MAKING APPLICATION TO THE
PLANNING COMMISSION
WHEREAS, the City Council discussed the possibility of placing billboards on the Golf
Course and adjacent City property at the March 1 Work Session; and
WHEREAS, the GolCCourse Superintendent has rccommended investigating thc
possibility of placing these billboards in acceptable locations with the intention of producing
revenue for thc golf course for debt reduction and for rcvenucs to go to the gcneral fund, and
with the intention for the billboards to operate as barricrs in sclect locations to prevent baJJs from
leaving the golf coursc;
WHEREAS, it may be necessary to undertake an ordinance/zoning change to proceed
with this projcct including application to the Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS, at the March 1 Work Session, the City Council authorized the Golf Course
Superintendent to proceed with the next steps in investigating the possibility of such a vcnture;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MOUNDS VIEW, MINNESOTA that the Golf Course Supcrintendent has been authorized to
proceed in making application to the Planning Commission for potentially placing billboards on
the Bridges Golf Course and adjacent City property. In no evcnt, does the adoption of this
resolution preclude the City Council from taking alternative action on this matter.
