RESOLlJTION ESTABLISHING A TENTATIVE TIMETABLE FOR PREPARING AND
ADOPTING THE 2000 BUDGET AND LONG TERM FINANCIAL PLAN

WHEREAS, the City's Charter and Code. as well as State Statutes set forth various requirements
for considering and adopting the City's budget: and
WHEREAS, Section 7.04 of tile City Charter requires tbe City Clerk-Administrator to submit to
the Council a budget calendar to be established by resolution.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Mounds View,
Minnesota that the follO\ving budget and long term financial plan calendar is hereby adopted:

City Council adopts budget calendar
Departments submit proposed 2000 budget and L TFP to Finance
Finance Dept. and City Administrator review budgets and LTFP.
Dept. I leads review budgets and LTfP.
Council review of2000 budget and LTfP:
August 2 ,vork session
August 16 special work session
September 30 work session (if needed)
Council adopts a preliminary budget and maximum levy/
Additional Council meetings as needed.
City distributes budget newsletter.
Counci I holds inlormational meeting on the 1999 budget and L TFP
Truth in taxation hearing and adoption of the 2000 budget, tax levy
and LTFP (dates dependent upon County and School
Di strict selected dates).
