RESOLUTION NO. 4597
CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION DEPOSING RUNWAY AND CONTROL TOWER
DEVELOPMENT AT ANOKA COUNTY-BLAINE AIRPORT
WHEREAS, the Aviation Chapter, Metropolitan Development Guide, elated May,
1994 recommends on page 46, "that parallel runways and an air traffic control tower
be developed at the Anoka County-Blaine Airport, II (Airport), and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Court Order dated July 28, 1986, the Metropolitan
Airports Commission (MAC) agrees to develop the airport as a "minor use" airport and
WHEREAS, MAC further agrees to develop the airport pursuant to the Airport
Ma.ster Plan formally adopted by the MAC on August 15, 1983 and approved by the
Metropolitan Council (MC) on November 22, 1983.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Mounds View hereby ordains:
1. That any development of the airport other than set forth in
Phases 1 A and 1 B of said Airport Master Plan is considered by
the City as a violation of the court order; and
2. That the City is opposed to the proposal set forth in the Metropolitan
Development Guide, dated May, 1994, whereby parallel runways and an air
traffic control tower be developed at the airport, because it is contrary to the
Court Order and for all reasons and more fully set forth in the amended
complaint referred to in said Court Order.
Adopted this 25th day of July, 1994.
