CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT
PROPOSAL FOR THE IMPROVEMENTS TO FOUR NEIGHBORHOOD PARK.
BUIlDINGS TO COMPLY WITII ADA REGUlATIONS FOR ACCESSmlUTY OF
PUBLIC BUIlDINGS TO TIlE PUBLIC.
WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View is interested in providing improvements to
park buildings for the increased demand of space to facilitate community residents and groups,
and
WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View also understands that improvements must
comply with ADA regulations, and
WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View currently facilitates one park building that
has been improved years ago to include indoor restroom facilities and accessibility, and
WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View has received more demand for the use of
that particular park building (Random Park Building) that the time and space allows, thus
indicating a large need for space available to groups of the community, and
WHEREAS, the Focus 2000 project team Neighborhood and Housing
recommended the improvement of neighborhood park buildings to provide adequately for the
public's use for meetings and groups and other activities to serve as a neighborhood focal point
and to also provide social support services to families and individuals, and
WHEREAS, the Mounds View Parks and Recreation Commission has also
indicated their desire to have the neighborhood park buildings upgraded in accessibility with
proper restroom facilities to meet the high demands of space for scout groups, senior citizens,
preschool, and after school activities, and
WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View has insufficient funds for the accessibility
and restroom facilities of the four neighborhood park buildings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL YED, that the City Council of the City of
Mounds View approves the Community Development Grant which requests funding for the
improvements to four neighborhood park buildings to include accessibility improvements and
restroom facilities so that the buildings can be used by the community for support activities.
