HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 6823RESOLUTION 6823 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA AUTHORIZING THE PREPARATION OF A PRELIMINARY FEASIBILITY REPORT AND CONSULTANT SELECTION FOR THE 2007-2008 SREET AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT WHEREAS, on May 1, 2006, Staff presented the results of the survey that was conducted on the six neighborhood project areas (A-F); and WHEREAS, at this meeting, the City Council indicated that they were not comfortable in moving forward with the Street and Utility Improvement Program based on the limited responses and directed Staff to conduct an additional survey; and WHEREAS, on May 3, 2006, a supplemental survey was mailed out, from which the City received 97 additional responses; and WHEREAS, the first step in a public improvement process is the preparation of a preliminary engineering report; and WHEREAS, there are several engineering consultants within the City's "consultant pool" from whom services could be obtained; and WHEREAS, Staff recommends that the Council retain the services the engineering firm of Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik, and Associates (BRAA) to assist in the preparation of the preliminary engineering report and other aspects of this project, as directed by City Council. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: It is hereby authorized that the preliminary report for the 2007-2008 Street and Utility Improvement Project be prepared. Said preliminary report shall include an analysis as to whether the proposed improvements are necessary, cost effective, and feasible. 2. The Neighborhood Project Areas will be studied, as part of the preliminary report will include areas: X, X, and X, as indicated on the current Street and Utility Improvement Program map. The services of the engineering firm of Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik, and Associates (BRAA) shat! be retained to assist in the preparation of the preliminary engineering report and other aspects of this project, as directed by City Council.
