<br />RESOLUTION 6828 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE REPLACEMENT OF A CIVIL DEFENSE WARNING <br />SIREN <br />WHEREAS, one of the cities civil Defense warning sirens is worn out, no longer functioning, 's over 20 years <br />old, and is no longer being manufactured, and; <br />WHEREAS, its replacement is essential to ensure the cities emergency warning system is operational, and; <br />WHEREAS, RT Electric, and Federal Warning systems both submitted bids for replacing the siren with a <br />Federal 2001 (the most purchased siren in the industry) siren which is a rotating siren which covers a 5,400 <br />feet radius, and; <br />WHEREAS, the bid from RT Electric is $15,220.00, and the bid from Federal Warning Systems is $15,649. <br />To avoid delay in obtaining a replacement for this critical warning system, a tentative order has been placed <br />with the lowest bidder -RT Electric. <br />• NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council for the City of Mounds View authorizes the <br />purchase and installation of a replacement warning siren from RT Electric in the amount of $15,220 including <br />tax from the special project fund. <br />Adopted this 22nd day of May 2006. <br />r, <br />~~ .. <br />Rob arty, Mayor <br />ATTEST: t <br />Kurt Ulrich, City Administrator <br />(seal) <br /> <br />
