APPROVING THE 2016 SUBSCRIPTION AGREEMENT TO PEACE OFFICER
ACCREDITED TRAINING ONLINE (PATROL)
WHEREAS, the Mounds View Police Department has utilized an online training
system for continuing education courses called the Peace Officer Accredited Training
Online (PATROL) system; and
WHEREAS, this training system is sponsored by the League of MN Cities
Insurance Trust, Minnesota Counties Intergovernmental Trust, MN Chiefs of Police
Association and the MN Sheriff's Association; and
WHEREAS, through PATROL, agencies have access to web-based courses that
can be accessed anytime online and include monthly topics on current legal issues, use of
force, deadly force, OSHA training and supervisory and leadership courses; and
WHEREAS, this training offers the convenience and value to the officers while
providing up to as many as 28 POST credits per year; and
WHEREAS, the cost for this training program is $85 per officer per year, totaling
$1,615, which is included in the 2016 Police Department budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota, the approval of the 2016 Subscription
Agreement to the Peace Officer Accredited Training Online (PATROL) system for the
2016 calendar year at a total cost of $1,615.
