RESOLUTION NO. 8486 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> APPROVAL OF THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING TO THE RAMSEY <br /> COUNTY AUTO THEFT PREVENTION COLLABORATIVE INITIATIVE <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey County Sheriff's Department has secured funding in 2012 for <br /> the partner agencies from the Minnesota Department of Commerce, Division of Insurance Fraud <br /> Prevention, Auto Theft Prevention Program, for the Ramsey County Auto Theft Prevention <br /> Collaborative Initiative for license plate readers and awareness materials; and <br /> WHEREAS, the partner agencies include the Ramsey County Sheriff's Department, the <br /> New Brighton Police Department, the Maplewood Police Department, the White Bear Lake <br /> Police Department and the Mounds View Police Department; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Mounds View Police Department has acquired one license plate reader <br /> from the Sheriff's Department grant and a second license plate reader unit during the initial <br /> grant application period; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey County Sheriffs Department applied for additional grant funding <br /> for the 2015-16 and 2016-17 periods on behalf of all partner agencies; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Mounds View Police Department can receive reimbursement of$2,000 <br /> for the annual license plate reader maintenance fees and $3,200 for investigator overtime <br /> expenses; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Mounds View Police Department must follow the guidelines in the <br /> memorandum of understanding for the reporting requirements; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey County Sheriff's Department requests all partner agencies to <br /> sign the Memorandum of Understanding to the Ramsey County Auto Theft Prevention <br /> Collaborative Initiative to remain eligible for all grant reimbursements. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, <br /> Ramsey County, Minnesota, approval of the Memorandum of Understanding to the Ramsey <br /> County Auto Theft Prevention Collaborative Initiative. <br /> Adopted this 14TH day of December 2015. <br /> oe Flaherty, V ayor <br /> ATTEST: t <br /> t �, <br /> Jim ricson, City Administrator <br /> (seal) <br />
