HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 6882• RESOLUTION 1`TO. 6882 RESOLUTION TERMINATING THE EMPLOYMENT OF THOMAS BAUMGART FROM THE CITY OF MOUNDS. VIEW CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA WHEREAS, the City Administrator for the City of Mounds View (the "City") has the authority under the City's Personnel Manual to terminate employees of the City subject to the concurrence by the City Council (the "Council"); and WHEREAS, the City Administrator concurs with the recommendation of the Chief of Police that it is in the best interest of the City that the employment of Thomas Baumgart (the "Employee") be terminated; and • ~Vl-IER.EAS, the recommendation is based on the Employee's inability to perform the essential fiu7ctions of the position, as concluded by Employee's care providers and summarized in a letter to the Employee from the City Administrator sent to the Employee on June 28, 2006, as well as a summary recommendation of the Chief of Police dated July 5, 2006; and WHEREAS, the City Administrator sent a letter to the Employee at his Iast known address advising Ium of the City Council's consideration of the recommendation of termination and offering lum the opportunity to address the City Council; and WHEREAS, the Employee did not appear before the City Council for purposes of making a statement in response to the recommendation; and • WHEREAS, the Council also relies on the professional expertise and opinion of the City Administrator and the Chief of Police obtained during the administration of the City's business as tvell as the conclusions of the Employee's health care providers concerning the Employee's inability to perform the essential functions of his job; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the above-referenced recitals are incorporated herein to this Resolution. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the City Council of the City of Mounds View approves the recommendation for the termination of the employment of the Employee effective 3uly 10, 2006. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the City Council directs City staff to provide an appropriate Notice of Termination to the Employee with the effective • date of termination being on July 10, 2006.
