CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE INSTALLATION OF CARPET AND TILE
AND AUTHORIZING VOLUNTEER PAINTING FOR THE RANDOM PARK
BUILDING REPLACEMENT PROJECT
WHEREAS, the final interior work, which includes carpeting, tiling, interior
painting, and landscaping was planned for but excluded from the original
construction contract as a cost savings measure; and
WHEREAS, quotes for installation of carpet and the for the Random Park
Building were solicited and a total of two (2) quotes were received with the low
quote submitted by Abby Carpet in the amount of $11,210.00; and
WHEREAS, a Boy Scout has volunteered to paint the interior of the
Random Park Building as part of his requirement to obtain an Eagle Scout
badge; and
• WHEREAS, the Boy Scout will be acting as the painting contractor, but
will need to be covered under the City insurance policy; and
WHEREAS, it is recommended that funds for the carpet and the contract
along with any necessary painting supplies be derived based on Resolution
6778.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows:
A contract for the installation of carpet and the for the Random Park
Building is awarded to Abby Carpet in the amount of $11,210.00.
2. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and
directed to enter into a contract with said contractor, contingent on
City Legal Counsel approval.
3. Volunteer painting for the Random Park Building Replacement
Project is authorized.
4. Funds for the carpet and the contract along with any necessary
painting supplies will be derived based on Resolution 6778.
