APPROVING THE HIRING OF DANIEL STONE TO THE POSITION OF POLICE
OFFICER
WHEREAS, the City Council has approved the establishment of an eligibility list for
the position of Police Officer for a current vacancy in the Police Department, and the
Police Civil Service Commission has approved the procedures for establishing an eligibility
register to fill this vacancy, and;
WHEREAS, the approved hiring procedures consist of an application, a
supplemental application questionnaire and score sheet, training and experience scoring,
two rounds of oral interviews, physical agility testing, a thorough background investigation,
physical examination and a psychological examination and;
WHEREAS, the Civil Service Commission has certified the eligibility list for the
opening, with Daniel Stone selected as the top candidate on the eligibility register, and his
background investigation, medical, psychological, and physical agility testing have all been
successfully completed, and;
WHEREAS, staff of the Police Department has met with Daniel Stone, and the Chief
of Police recommends he be appointed to the position of Police Officer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Mounds
View, Ramsey County, Minnesota does hereby appoint Daniel Stone to the position of
police officer effective February 1, 2016 at the step one rate of pay($22.63/hr)as indicated
in the Law Enforcement Labor Services contract.
