CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
APPROVING THE HIRE OF JONATHAN SEVALD TO THE
PLANNER POSITION
WHEREAS, upon direction from the Mounds View City Council, the Planner position was
advertised; and
WHEREAS, thirty-one (31) applications were received for the position and seven (7)
were chosen for interview; and
WHEREAS, Jonathan Sevald's skills and experience were determined to most closely
match the duties and responsibilities as outlined in the job description; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Sevald would start at Step 3 of the Pay Scale at $28.91/hour; with an
increase to Step 4 of the salary range (currently$30.51/hour)after one year of employment; and
WHEREAS, all step wage increases are subject to satisfactory performance evaluations;
and
WHEREAS, background checks on Mr. Sevald are incomplete, and therefore, hiring
would be contingent on satisfactory background checks; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Sevald would begin employment on or about February 1, 2016.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council appoints
Jonathan Sevald to the position of Planner in the Community Development Department,
contingent on satisfactory background checks, with employment to commence on or about
February 1, 2016.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby approve the hire of
Jonathan Sevald to the full-time, exempt, non-union position of Planner at Step 3 of the pay
scale (currently $28.91/hour).
