RESOLUTION NO. 6971
CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
APPROVING PURCHASE OF EXERCISE
EQUIPMENT FOR COMMUNITY CENTER
•
WHEREAS, the Council has decided to pursue a modified plan for the
Community Center and to generally make the building available for public use
and rental; and,
WHEREAS, the proposed down-sized fitness area will utilize existing space
without any major modifications to the current building; and,
WHEREAS, existing equipment at the facility has been found to be beyond cost-
effective repair and is in need of replacement and,
WHEREAS, the followin uotes were received and considered:

Treadmill $4,700 (Life Fitness) $5,195 (PRECOR)
Heavy Duty Elliptical
Trainer $3,500 (Life Fitness) $4075 (PRECOR)
Recumbent Bike $1,750 Life Fitness $2,275 STAR TRAC
WHEREAS, based upon these unit prices the total expenditure would be as
follows:
Treadmill: 2@ $4,700 = $9,400
Elliptical Trainer: 2@$3,500 = $7,000
Bike: 1@ $1,750 = $1,750
SUB TOTAL: Equipment $18,150
ADD:
Shipping/install: $350
Tax: $1,202.50
TOTAL: $19.702.50
WHEREAS, this purchase of equipment has been reviewed and recommended
by the YMCA Advisory Committee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby
authorize the purchase of fitness equipment for the Mounds View Community
• Center in the amount of $19,702.50 as specified above, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the funding is hereby authorized from the
following:
2006 Community Center Budget (Equipment) $3,500
2007 Community Center Budget (Equipment) $5,000
Special Projects Fund: $11,202.50
