HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 6998RESOLUTION NO. 6998 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY • STAT E OF MINNESOTA SALE OF (FORMER) FIRE STATION THREE 1314 109T" AVENUE N.E., BLAINE, MN WHEREAS, pursuant to City Council Resolution of a Capital Improvement Plan for the Spring Lake Park Fire Department Inc. that included construction of a new fire station that was completed on October 5, 2006 and; WHEREAS, the new station located at 11920 Ulysses Street N.E. Blaine, MN replaced, through consolidation, Fire Station Three located at 1314 109th Avenue N.E., Blaine, MN and; WHEREAS, the three cities have agreed to sell Fire Station Three located at 1314 109th Avenue N. E., Blaine, MN and; WHEREAS, all three City Councils adopted amendments to the Fire Contract transferring legal control of Fire Station Three from the Joint Powers Agreement to the City of Blaine and; WHEREAS, a market appraisal was completed in the fall of 2005 and an updated appraisal was received in November, 2006 and; WHEREAS, the appraised market value of Fire Station Three was $162,000 and; WHEREAS, Kingswood Church, located at 1264 109th Avenue N. E., Blaine, MN has tentatively agreed to purchase Fire Station Three and the land for $184,000, and the City of Blaine will cause the . existing structure to be removed, have the site cleaned, and restored and; WHEREAS, said removal and site restoration costs are estimated at approximately $25,000 and will be deducted from the net proceeds; and WHEREAS, appraisal, legal, and closing costs incurred by the City of Blaine totaling approximately $10,000 will be deducted from the net proceeds. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View adopt this resolution of support in the Blaine City Council selling fire Station Three to Kingswood Church located at 1264 109th Avenue N. E., Blaine, MN for $184,000 minus the cost of removal, estimated to be approximately $25,000 and minus the appraisal, closing and -egal costs estimated at approximately $10,000.
