HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 7027 RESOLUTION 7027 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA AWARDING THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR THE COUNTY ROAD 10 TRAILWAY PROJECT: SEGMENTS 9&10 AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE SAID CONTRACT WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 7001 adopted by the City Council on January 8, 2007, sealed bids were received on February 8, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. for the County Road 10 Trailway Project: Segments 9&10; and WHEREAS, the low responsive bid was received from Jay Bros., Incorporated with a Base Bid $455,270.71 for the County Road 10 Trailway Project: Segments 9&10; and WHEREAS, Jay Bros., Incorporated has been debarred by the Minnesota Department of Administration; and WHEREAS, being debarred by the Department of Administration restricts Jay Bros., Incorporated from submitting bids for state projects; and WHEREAS, Bid Alternate No. 1 was created pursuant to the City Council motion made on January 22, 2007; and WHEREAS, Bid Alternate No. 1 represents a deduction in the project construction cost for the removal of the boardwalk bump out area. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: That the Base Bid of Jay Bros. Incorporated in the amount of $455,270.71 for the County Road 10 Trailway Project: Segments 9&10 is the lowest responsive and responsible bid. 2. That a contract to perform work according to the base bid is awarded to Jay Bros. Incorporated. 3. Bid Alternate No. 1 of the removal of the boardwalk bump out area is hereby approved. (remove bump out) 4. -The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with said bidder. • 5. The Public Works Department is authorized and directed to return the deposit made for said bids, except the deposit of the successful bidder, which shall be retained until a contract has been signed.
