ACCEPT BID
FOR CONTRACTS COMPRISING BID PACKAGE #1 FOR
NEW SBM FIRE STATION #3
WHEREAS, pursuant to City Council Resolution of a Capital improvement Plan
for the Spring Lake Park Fire Department Inc. that included construction of a new fire
station and said bids were received on September 22, 2005, opened and tabulated
according to law, and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement
for Earthwork:
Northwest Asphalt $296,421
Ramsey Excavating $306,325
Julian Johnson (non responsive) $189,000
AND WHEREAS, Northwest Asphalt, Shakopee Minnesota is the lowest
responsible bidder.
• WHEREAS, the following bids were received on September 22, 2005, opened and
tabulated according to law, and the following bids were received complying with the
advertisement for Landscaping:
Noble Nursery $53,336
Peterson Companies $54,840
Mickman Brothers $60,897
MN Valley Landscaping $62,678
Midland Nursery $65,632
AND WHEREAS, Noble Nursery, Blaine, Minnesota is the lowest responsible
bidder.
WHEREAS, the following bids were received on September 22, 2005, opened and
tabulated according to law, and the following bids were received complying with the
advertisement for Asphalt & Site Concrete:
Midwest Asphalt $219,500
Bituminous Roadways $227,870
Northwest Asphalt $239,580
DMJ Corporation $250,997
• AND WHEREAS, Midwest Asphalt of Minnetonka, Minnesota is the lowest
responsible bidder.
WHEREAS, the following bids were received on September 22, 2005, opened
and tabulated according to law, and the following bids were received complying with the
advertisement for Foundations and Footings:
Northland Concrete $139,800
Hollenback and Nelson $157,000
Crosstown Masonry $164,000
Kelleher Construction $169,221
Gladstone Construction $201,875
ADB Construction $222,000
AND WHEREAS, Northland Concrete of Burnsville, Minnesota is the lowest
responsible bidder.
WHEREAS, the following bids were received on September 22, 2005, opened
and tabulated according to law, and the following bids were received complying with the
advertisement for Pre-Cast Concrete:

AND WHEREAS, Moline Concrete of Lino Lakes, Minnesota is the lowest
• responsible bidder.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Mounds View adopt this resolution of support in the Blaine City Council awarding the
Earthwork, Landscaping, Asphalt and Site Concrete, Foundations and Footings, and
Pre-Cast Concrete work to the lowest identified bidders.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View this 26th day of September
2005.
