CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING THE
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS AND SETTING A BID DATE FOR THE RANDOM PARK
BUILDING REPLACEMENT PROJECT
WHEREAS, on December 12, 2005, the City Council waived the Public Improvement
Hearing, held a Public Information Meeting, ordered the project, approved a contract to
demolish the existing building at Random Park, and authorized the preparation of plans and
specifications for the Random Park Building Replacement Project; .and
WHEREAS, plans and specifications have been prepared; and
WHEREAS, the estimated construction cost is $221,425 based on the plans and
specifications; and
WHEREAS, the plans calls for. a Bid Alternate for recommended alterations to the
building at an estimated cost of $35,000; and
WHEREAS, as per state statute, with an estimated contract amount in excess of
$100,000, publication must be made at least three weeks before the last day to submit bids; and
WHEREAS, a February 2, 2006 10:00 am bid date will provide ample time to provide the
required notification to contractors as per state statute.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View,
Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows:
The plans and specifications for the Random Park Building and Replacement
Project, which were prepared pursuant to Resolution No. 6700, adopted by the
City Council on December 12, 2005, are hereby approved as the plans and
specifications in accordance with which said improvements shall be constructed.
2. A Date to receive bids for said improvements is hereby established as February
2, 2006 at 10:00 a.m.
3. That Staff is hereby directed to cause to be published in the New Brighton
Bulletin and in the Construction Bulletin, at least three weeks before the last day
to submit bids, a notice to bidders for the implementation of said project as
required by law.
Adopted this 9th day of January, 2006.
