CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A REPLACEMENT 1-Ton 4X2 TRUCK
WHEREAS, the City Council previously approved the purchase of a 2006
Ford F-350 4x2 regular cab and chassis with dual rear wheels truck; and
WHEREAS, said truck has surpassed its ten year replacement schedule;
and
and
WHEREAS, said truck can be replaced with a similar specification truck;
WHEREAS, a 2006 Ford F-350 4x2 regular cab and chassis with dual rear
wheels truck can be purchased from Elk River Ford under state contract for
$17,854.60. Tax, license, and transfer fees would cost an additional $1,160.54;
and
• WHEREAS, the existing Unit No.128, a 1991 Chevrolet 4x2 1-ton truck,
can be auctioned off at the next available opportunity and retains an estimated
salvage /trade-in value of $2,000.00; and
WHEREAS, additional equipment such as a dump box, strobe lights, and
City logo necessary to fully utilize truck; and
WHEREAS, said equipment can be purchased from Crysteel Truck
Equipment for $7,703.92, and the City of Mounds View Logo for $127.80,
including tax; and
WHEREAS, the 2006 General Fund, Pavement Management, Vehicle
Account (Account 100-4472-7030) has $28,000.00 budgeted for this truck
purchase.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows:
1. The purchase of a 2006 Ford F-350 Series 4X2 Regular Cab and Chassis
with Dual Rear Wheels Truck under state contract is hereby approved.
• 2. A contract to Elk River Ford in the amount of $19,015.14 for the purchase
of said truck, including tax, license, and transfer fees is hereby awarded.
3. The purchase of equipment such as dump box and strobe lights for the
Ford F-350 Series 4X2 truck is hereby approved.
4. A contract with Crysteel Truck Equipment in the amount of $ 7,703.92
including tax for the purchase and installation of said equipment and
options is awarded.
5. The trade-in or salvage of the existing Unit No.128, a 1991 Chevrolet 4x2
1-Ton Truck is hereby authorized to be auctioned at the next available
opportunity.
6. The trade-in /salvage /disposal of the existing Unit No.128, a 1991
Chevrolet 4x2 1-Ton Truck, at a government auction at the next available
opportunity is hereby authorized.
