CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW

ADOPTING A CALENDAR FOR THE PREPARATION OF THE 2008 BUDGET
WHEREAS, the City's Charter and Code as well as State Statutes set forth various
requirements for considering and adopting the City's budget; and
WHEREAS, Section 7.04 of the City Charter requires the Clerk-Administrator to submit to
the City Council a budget calendar to be established by resolution.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View
that the following budget and long tern financial plan calendar is hereby adopted:
June 4, 2007 City Council discusses budget priori#ies at work session.
July 26, 2007 Summary of General Fund operating budget requests delivered to City
Council.
August 6, 2007 City Council reviews General Fund budget at work session.
Sept. 10, 2007 City Council adopts preliminary 2008 property tax levy and sets date for the
Truth in Taxation Public Hearing.
Oct. 1, 2007 City Council reviews other funds and utility rate study at work session.
Nov. 13, 2007 City Council adopts utility rates far 2008.
Dec. 3, 2007 Truth in Taxatian Public Hearing.
Dec. 10, 2007 Continuation Hearing and adoption of 2008 budget and tax levy.

Oct 15 -Nov 19 Additional City Coiulcil work sessions as needed.
October 26, 2007 City distributes newsletter with proposed budget.
November 13, 2007 City Council adopts utility rates for 2008.
December 3, 2007 Truth in Taxation Public Hearing
December 10, 2007 Continuation hearing and adoption of 2008 Budget and tax levy.
