COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF TWO SCHOOL ZONE RADAR
SIGNS
WHEREAS, the Mounds View Police Department is responsible for the safety of
the general public including pedestrians; and
WHEREAS, the Mounds View City Council approved the budgeted amount of
$15,000.00 for the purchase of two school zone radar signs for County Road I,
( Pinewood School ); and
WHEREAS, the current signs are static and do not illuminate to warn drivers;
and
WHEREAS, the Police Department received three quotes for the signs and the
lowest quote was in the amount $ 11,425.25 from TAPCO with an installation cost of
$4,800.00 by Safety Signs which will be paid for by the Mounds View School District;
and
WHEREAS, TAPCO has a local representative to assist with any issues that may
arise.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota, to authorize the purchase of two school
zone radar signs from TAPCO for the amount of $11,425.25, from account number 225-
4200-7030, and the installation of the signs by Safety Signs in the amount of $4,800.00,
with said amount being reimbursed back to the City from the Mounds View School
District.
