RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE
FACILITIES MAINTENANCE/BUILDING CUSTODIAN
JOB DESCRIPTION
WHEREAS, due to the resignation of the Community Center Custodian, Staff
reviewed the job description, and made revisions to better align with the City's current
needs; and,
WHEREAS, during the May Work Session, it was the consensus of the City
Council to proceed in revising the job description with the current Community Center
Custodian pay scale, and start the hiring process; and
WHEREAS, Staff further researched the position, and found this position to
appear over compensated as it relates to past compensation studies, pay equity
reports, and HAY point system; and,
WHEREAS, it's Staff's recommendation to approve the new job description and
start the process of a HAY point analysis and salary study before proceeding with the
hiring process; and
WHEREAS, Staff will share the results of the study, and request approval to
proceed with the hiring process at a future City Council Meeting; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, THAT the Mounds View City Council
does hereby approve the attached Facilities Maintenance/Building Custodian job
description.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, THAT the Mounds View
City Council does hereby approve a HAY point and salary compensation study for this
position, completed by Springsted, Inc.
