CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
AUTHORIZING THE HIRE OF KERRIE KANE TO THE POSITION OF
RECEPTIONIST/ RECYCLING COORDINATOR, APPROVING REVISIONS TO THE
JOB DESCRIPTION AND PROVIDING REQUIRED PAYMENT TO OFFICETEAM
WHEREAS,the position of Receptionist/Recycling Coordinator became vacant on Oct
5, 2016, and shortly thereafter the City entered into an agreement with OfficeTeam for a
temporary worker while it began the process to fill the vacancy; and,
WHEREAS, through OfficeTeam, Ms. Kerrie Kane began working with the City on
October 17, 2016, immediately offering much needed support and assistance; and,
WHEREAS, during the general election early voting process, Ms. Kane demonstrated a
high level of initiative and work ethic, providing invaluable customer service support during this
time; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. Kane's skills, experience and abilities have proven to be a good match
for the City's vacant Receptionist/ Recycling Coordinator position; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed proposed revisions to the job description,
agreed that Ms. Kane would be a great addition to the City's staff and directed the City
Administrator to negotiate with OfficeTeam in an effort to buy out Ms. Kane's contract; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. Kane has agreed to start at Step 4 of the pay scale (currently $22.70
per hour)with an increase to Step 5 of the salary range after one year of employment, subject to
a satisfactory performance evaluation; and
WHEREAS, staff has conducted background checks on Ms. Kane with satisfactory
results; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. Kane would begin employment on or about March 1, 2017.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council appoints Ms.
Kerrie Kane to the position of Receptionist/Recycling Coordinator, a full-time, non-exempt, non-
union position, at Step 4 of the pay scale (currently $22.70 per hour).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council
does hereby approve the proposed revisions to the Receptionist / Recycling Coordinator
position description.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council
directs staff to compensate OfficeTeam in the amount of$6,610 for their negotiated conversion
fee.
