STATE OF MINNESOTA
APPROVING THE HIRE OF
ISMAIL OMAR
TO THE POSITION OF
COMMUNITY SERVICE OFFICER (CSO) POSITION
WHEREAS, at the September 12, 2016, City Council Meeting, the City Council approved
a revised job description and authorized Staff to advertise for the Community Service Officer
(CSO) position; and
WHEREAS,the Community Service Officer(CSO)is a full-time, non-union, non-exempt,
non-sworn position; and
WHEREAS, the Mounds View Police Department interviewed candidates and an
eligibility list was certified by the Mounds View Police Civil Service Commission on December
29, 2016; and
WHEREAS, the top candidate, Ismail Omar, has satisfactory completed a background
check, physical, and psychological examinations; and
WHEREAS, police staff have personally met with and interviewed Ismail and feel that he
would be an excellent addition to the department; and
WHEREAS, Staff is requesting to begin employment of Ismail Omar as a Community
Service Officer (CSO) on or about January 17., 2017; and
WHEREAS, salary will be at Step 1 of the salary range($17.52/hour),with an increase to
Step 1.5 of the salary range ($18.07/hour) after six (6) months of employment; and
WHEREAS, all step/salary increases are subject to a satisfactory performance
evaluation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Mounds
View, Ramsey County, Minnesota does hereby appoint Ismail Omar to the position of
Community Service Officer (CSO) effective January 17, 2017, at the step one rate of pay
($17.52), with an increase to Step 1.5 of the salary range ($18.07/hour) after six (6) months of
employment.
