CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW

STATE OF MINNESOTA
ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR CITY HALL AND COMMUNITY
CENTER PARKING LOTS MILL AND OVERLAY PROJECT
WHEREAS, Public Works has prepared bidding documents in-house for public bidding to
mill and overlay the City Hall and Community Center parking lots; and,
WHEREAS, City Council approved the plans, and specification and authorized the
advertisement for bids on April 24, 2017 (Resolution 8750); and,
WHEREAS, seven bids were received and publicly opened on June 6, 2017; and,
WHEREAS, the actual bid tabulation is:

WHEREAS, Bituminous Roadways, Inc. of Mendota Heights, Minnesota submitted the
lowest bid of$106,880.25; and
WHEREAS, Public Works staff recommends approving a construction contract with
Bituminous Roadways, Inc. to perform the parking lots mill and overlay project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View,
Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows:
1. The bid proposal for $106,880.25 submitted by Bituminous Roadways, Inc. of Mendota
Heights, Minnesota for the City Hall and Community Center Parking Lots Mill and Overlay
Project (City Project No. 2017-009) is hereby accepted.
2. City staff is hereby directed to prepare a construction contract agreement between the City of
Mounds View and Bituminous Roadways, Inc. for$106,880.25
3. The Director of Public Works is authorized to make approvals related to quantity over-runs
or additional work resulting from unknown conditions discovered during construction up to a
combined total of$10,700 (10% contingency) on behalf of the City Council.
4. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed, for and on behalf of
the City, to execute and enter into a construction contract agreement with Bituminous
Roadways, Inc. for said project for said price.
5. Funding for the project shall be from the street improvement fund (485-4700-7050) in an
amount not to exceed $117,580.25, which includes the 10% contingency noted above.
