Regular Meeting

1. CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order at 6:05 p.m. by Chairperson Cindy Carlson.
2. ROLL CALL:
Members present: Cindy Carlson, Tom Field, Rosemary Goff, Wendy Marty, Sean
Walther, Julie Olsen, Jerold Kahn, EDA Liaison Lynne Thomason
Staff present: Economic Development Coordinator Kevin Carroll, Community
Development Director Rick Jopke
3. SPECIAL BUSINESS
The EDC members attended a presentation in the Council chambers from
approximately 7:05 to 7:30 regarding the upcoming cable-casting of EDC and
Planning Commission meetings.
4. EDC BUSINESS -- Comprehensive Guide Plan
EDC Chair Cindy Carlson and Economic Development Coordinator Kevin Carroll led a
discussion of the preliminary draft of the Economic Development section of the
Comprehensive Guide Plan update. EDC members made several suggestions
regarding additions to and/or revisions of various portions of the document. It was
agreed that the focus of the document should be modified to reflect more future
planning and a bit less analysis of current circumstances. EDC members expressed
an interest in seeing the ED sections of the Comp Guide Plan updates that the city
has received (and will be receiving) from neighboring cities. It was agreed the
discussion of this topic would be continued at the next regular meeting on February
25, 1999.
5. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business before the Commission, this meeting of the
Economic Development Commission adjourned at approximately 7:35 p.m.
