CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
APPOINTING CHRIS ATKINSON AS LEAD WORKER PARKS DIVISION AND
BRUCE MEEHAN AS LEAD WORKER STREETS DIVISION
WHEREAS, on November 22, 2017, the City Council directed staff to fill
two Lead Worker positions, one within the Parks Division and one within the
Streets Division; and
WHEREAS, the position was advertised internally and the City received
two letters of intent; and
WHEREAS, only two applications were received, one from Chris Atkinson
and one from Bruce Meehan; and
WHEREAS, Chris Atkinson has been an employee with the City since
2014 and currently works in the Parks Division; and, Bruce Meehan has been an
employee with the City since 1997 and currently works in the Streets Division;
and
WHEREAS, Chris Atkinson and Bruce Meehan are both qualified for the
position of Lead Worker; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Director and Human Resources Coordinator
met with Mr. Atkinson and Mr. Meehan to discuss their interest and qualifications,
as well as expectations for the position; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Director and Human Resources Coordinator
recommend that Mr. Atkinson be appointed to the Lead Worker position Parks
Division; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Director and Human Resources Coordinator
recommend that Mr. Meehan be appointed to the Lead Worker position Streets
Division; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Atkinson and Mr. Meehan would qualify for current
established pay scale of $31.57 per hour; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Atkinson and Mr. Meehan would be subject to a six
month probationary period; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City
Council does hereby approve the appointment of Chris Atkinson as Lead Worker
Parks Division; and, Bruce Meehan as Lead Worker Streets Division of the Public
Works Department effective January 22, 2018.
