CALL TO ORDER
The Economic Development Authority was called to order by President McCarty on June 9, 1997 at 8:41 p.m.
ROLL CALL
MEMBERS PRESENT: Duane McCarty,Julie Trude,Gary Quick,Roger Stigney,Roger Koopmeiners,
Director of Economic Development Cathy Bennett,Clerk Administrator Chuck Whiting,and City Attorney
Bob Long.
OTHERS PRESENT: None
APPROVAL OF AGENDA:
MOTION/SECOND: Trude/Quick to Approve the Agenda as presented.
VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried
• APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
MOTION/SECOND: Trude/Stigney to approve the minutes of the EDA Meeting on May 12, 1997 as
presented.
VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried
CONSENT AGENDA:
There were no items on the Consent Agenda.
PUBLIC HEARINGS:
There were no Public Hearings scheduled for this meeting.
EDA BUSINESS:
A. Consideration of Approving an Agreement with the Fire Department for the Controlled Burning of
the house at 8283 Long Lake Road.
Ms.Bennett explained that the city is required to obtain asbestos samples of the home prior to demolition.
There was the presence of asbestos in the floor tile of the home and although it is under the limit for removal
prior to demolition,it is over the limit for burning and would require removal. The cost to have the asbestos
removed would be such that Ms.Bennett feels the Council should not consider the controlled burning of the
property and just move forward with demolition.

B. Consideration of a Resolution Approving a Redevelopment Contract by and between the Mounds
View EDA and V.B.Digs,and authorizing the EDA President and Executive Director to execute the
contract on behalf of the Economic Development Authority.
This contract will be reviewed in more detail by the commissioners and considered at the next EDA meeting.
