The Mounds View Planning Commission was called to 1. Call To Order
order by Chair Mountin at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday,
September 18, 1991.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Commissioners Jones, Nelson, 2 . Roll Call
Peterson, Stevenson, and Chair Mountin.
Commissioners Burgers, Colleen, and Miller had
excused absences .
ALSO PRESENT: Planner Harrington and Planning
Intern Asleson.
Chair Mountin noted for the minutes that this 3. Consideration of
Resolution 322-91,
special meeting was called to order due to the Variance Request
fact that the case under consideration required for 40 'Curb Cut,
immediate attention. She also noted that the Phillips 66,
applicant was not present. 2525 Highway 10
Commissioner Peterson inquired as to whether the
City or Phillips 66 would be responsible for
landscaping costs incurred as a result of the new
street angle at Long Lake Road and Highway 10.
Planner Harrington indicated that Phillips would
be financially responsible for such costs .
Motion/Second: Jones/Stevenson to adopt Resolution
No. 322-91 approving the variance request of Phillips
66, 2525 Highway 10, Planning Case No. 329-91.

There being no further business before the 4 . Adjournment
Planning Commission, the meeting was adjourned
at 8: 10 p.m.

RESOLUTION NO. 322-91
CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE REQUESTED DRIVEWAY
OPENING VARIANCE FOR PHILLIPS 66 COMPANY,
2525 HIGHWAY 10, PLANNING CASE NO. 329-91
WHEREAS, the Mounds View Planning Commission has
reviewed the request of Phillips 66 Company for a variance to
allow a 40 foot driveway opening where only a 30 foot opening is
allowed by Code; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed the
criteria used when evaluating all variance requests; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has considered that
the reason for the variance request is that the City has
requested a 10 foot easement from the applicant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View
Planning Commission approves the driveway opening variance
110 request based on the following:
1. The condition that exists is not self-created.
2 . The requested variance is the minimum needed to
alleviate the problem.
3 . No reasonable alternative for the location of the
driveway opening exists.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any landscaping not
requiring relocation along Bronson Drive be maintained in its
present condition.
Adopted this 18th day of September, 1991.
