• <br />MOUNDS VIEW PLANNING COMMISSION <br />RESOLUTION NO. 98-83 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RECOMMENDATION TO THE CITY COUNCIL REGARDING PLANNING CASE 143-83 <br />WHEREAS, Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, owners of a <br />detached structure located at 5468 Adams Street, have submitted an <br />application to rezone this property from R-1, Single Family <br />Residential to R-2, Single and Two Family Residential to allow the <br />future use of the property as a day care facility; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, as part of the overall <br />review of the Zoning Code which is presently before the City <br />Council for approval, is recommending that day care/group nursery <br />facilities be an allowed use by conditional use permit in an R-2 <br />Residential District; and <br />WHEREAS, day care/group nursery facilities presently are an <br />allowable use, by conditional use permit, in an R-3 Residential <br />District; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has rezoned property from R-1 to R-2 when <br />the property is located on the periphery of residential neighbor- <br />hoods and when the rezoning will not be detrimental to the <br />surrounding R-1 uses; and <br />WHEREAS, this property is located on the periphery of a <br />residential area and should not be detrimental to surrounding <br />single family uses; and <br />WHEREAS, a rezoning to R-2 would be consistant with the <br />Comprehensive Plan which denotes the area as low density <br />residential; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View <br />Planning Commission recommends to the City Council approval of the <br />request by Cross of Glory Lutheran Church to rezone the property <br />located at 5468 Adams Street from R-1, Single Family Residential <br />to R-2, Single and Two Family Residential; <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Planning Commission directs <br />staff to forward this resolution to the City Council prior to <br />approval of the minutes. <br />Adopted this 7th day of December, 1983. <br />ATTEST: ` Zz.��--C� <br />Chairma <br />(SEAL) <br />G <br />rector n ublic Works/ <br />Community evelopment <br />
