Resolution 17-EDA-301 Approving a Preliminary EDA Property Tax Levy Request and Budget for Fiscal Year 2018. Finance Director Beer requested the EDA approve a preliminary EDA Property Tax Levy request and Budget for 2018. He explained the EDA used to be funded through administrative money collected by three separate TIF Districts. He reported these TIF Districts have since decertified and therefore an EDA property tax levy was created in 2017. He provided further comment on the proposed 2018 budget and levy and recommended approval. President Mueller questioned how EDA salaries would be paid in 2018 if the EDA levy was not approved. Finance Director Beer explained the EDA would have to terminate the employee or transfer this position to the General Fund. President Mueller asked if a traffic study for the proposed Boulevard development would be funded by the EDA. Finance Director Beer stated typically traffic studies are typically completed by the developer. He indicated an additional traffic study could be completed by the City and would then be funded by the EDA. MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Meehlhause.
