Discuss and review an offer for the sale of real property commonly known as The Bridges Golf Course. (Verbal Report) 5. PUBLIC INPUT: Citizens may speak to issues not on tonight’s agenda. Before speaking, please give your full name and address for the minutes. Also, please limit your comments to three minutes. 5. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A. EDA Meeting, February 28, 2005. 6. CONSENT AGENDA A. Schedule an Executive Session immediately after this EDA Meeting to discuss and review an offer for the sale of real property commonly known as The Bridges Golf Course. (Verbal Report) 7. EDA BUSINESS A. Potential for Housing Development in the Laport Meadows Area and Discussion regarding the Ardan Park. (Verbal Report) 8. REPORTS 9. To Approve the February 28, 2005 Agenda as presented. 20 21 Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 22 23 4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES. 24 25 A. February 14, 2005 – EDA Regular Meeting Minutes. 26 27 MOTION/SECOND. Thomas/Stigney. To approve the EDA Regular Meeting Minutes of 28 February 14, 2005. 29 30 Ayes-5 Nays-0 Motion carried. 31 32 5. CONSENT AGENDA. 33 34 A. Discuss, develop and consider an offer for the sale of real property commonly 35 known as The Bridges Golf Course. (Verbal Report) 36 B. Discuss and consider acquisition of real property commonly known as the 37 Skyline Motel. (Verbal Report). 38 39 President Marty noted that these two items would be discussed in a closed Executive Session. 40 41 MOTION/SECOND. Gunn/Flaherty. REPORTS. 47 48 Vice President Stigney requested comment on the results of the Donut Connection discussion 49 held in the last closed Executive Session of the EDA. 50 51 President Marty advised that the consensus had been that the City would not expend funds to 52 purchase the property, but that they would try to advertise the property to other developers. 53 54 Commissioner Thomas stated that they would be reviewing this in a few months. 55 56 Commissioner Flaherty added that they would be contacting some developers to see if there was 57 any interest. 58 59 Economic Development Coordinator Backman indicated he had contacted two developers, and 60 one of them has gone to look at the site and thought it may be a good location for a restaurant, 61 and the other is pondering the situation. 62 63 Economic Development Coordinator Backman reported that the ribbon cutting ceremony held 64 last Saturday at the CVS Pharmacy had been well attended. 65 66 Commissioner Gunn asked what the status of the Hardee’s building was. 67 68 Economic Development Coordinator Backman reported that there is scaffolding completely 69 surrounding the business, and that Pasture Enterprises is in the process of re-doing the corner. 70 He added that Caribou Coffee is definitely coming in there, and there are ongoing discussions 71 regarding some other food-related businesses to occupy the eastern portion of the building. 72 73 Economic Development Coordinator Backman stated that both the TIF District legislation and 74 the reverter clause legislation they had been seeking had passed in the Senate, and the House 75 process will start tomorrow at 2:30. 76 77 7.
