CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW

STATE OF MINNESOTA
ADOPTING A MARKET ADJUSTMENT FOR THE DEPUTY POLICE CHIEF
POSITION
WHEREAS, the City commissioned a market study in 2017 to maintain a
competitive pay structure in light of significant staff turnover; and
WHEREAS, the Deputy Police Chief would be subject to a market adjustment
based on the study; and
WHEREAS, the Deputy Police Chief is currently at step 5 or $49.42 per hour; and
WHEREAS, the police department will be making personnel changes in the fall of
2018 that will provide capacity for a market adjustment of approximately $1,300 or $1.48
per hour, which would increase the interim rate to $50.90; and
WHEREAS, the interim rate and the new wage scale would be adjusted for any
Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) the City Council grants for 2019.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council does
hereby adopt the interim wage rate of $50.90 for the Deputy Police Chief, effective August
26, 2018 and progression to step 5 of the new wage scale on August 26, 2019.
