Authorizing Application for an Opportunity Grant
Through the Livable Communities Demonstration
Program

Background
Staff is requesting Council authorization to apply for a grant through the Livable Communities
Demonstration Account of the Livable Communities Fund. Any funding received through the
grant would be used to perform a market study and prepare development plans for the
former Amoco site and surrounding properties located at County Highway 10 and Silver Lake
Road.
Recommendation
Approve Resolution 5772.

CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION
FOR AN OPPOPRTUNITY GRANT THROUGH
THE LIVABLE COMMUNITIES DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM
WHEREAS the City of Mounds View is a participant in the Livable Communities Act’s
Housing Incentives Program for 2002 as determined by the Metropolitan Council, and is
therefore eligible to make application for funds under the Livable Communities Demonstration
Account; and
WHEREAS the City has identified a proposed project within the City that meets the
Demonstration Account’s purpose/s and criteria; and
WHEREAS the City has the institutional, managerial and financial capability to ensure
adequate project administration; and
WHEREAS The City certifies that it will comply with all applicable laws and regulations as
stated in the contract agreements; and
WHEREAS the Mounds View City Council agrees to act as legal sponsor for the project
contained in the opportunity grant application submitted on May 22, 2002.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Clerk/Administrator is hereby
authorized to apply to the Metropolitan Council for this funding on behalf of the City of Mounds
View and to execute such agreements as are necessary to implement the project on behalf of
the applicant
