The Mounde View Planning Commission was called to order at the City Hali by ite chairperson Barbara xaake at 7:35 pm on Wednesday, June 9, 19T6, The Tollowing members were preaent: Phy111s Blanchard, Paul Fedor, Robert Olazer, Allen Zepper and Aarbq.a Naake. Absant were: Oerald Foae, D~n M.aokeben, Nancy Burmeisber and Robert Roaeman. The minutes for the May 26, 19~6, meeting were amended a~ follows: ~n the lst page, 3rd paragraph, 2nd aentence, delete the word "with" and insert in 11eu thereof the word "wnere", and in the 3rd sentenae delete the word "vsriances" and insert "verianee ie". On page 2, lat paragraph, delete tha worde "ie a large lot, and divlsion of the baak lots ~ntc 4 aeparate parcels, The paraele are Uaund by Long Lake Rd and areenwood Drive, t~td" a,nd inaert in lieu bhAreof: "e.re 7 lots; 4 lots numbered 1-4 faaing ~reanwood Drive and 3 lota numbered 5-7 facing Long Lake Road." The ~roblem that she presently aeea is that in the present zoning, when you talk abaut 7 unita you are getting into R-3, which is apartment zoning. At this tirr:~~ if it is done R-2, you can never go higher than duplexes. If R-3, Chere tvill be 8 haasle au they do not plan apartments for that nroa. Mr. Fedor etated that right nuw, if bhe whole thing is rezonld R-Z, by the tima you are ready to build, Che new zoning code wi11 probably oe in effect. Mr. Fedor moved to table it until we take another look at the ordinance and bhis moti~n died for lank of a sec~nd. Mr. Daire Alno `,: stated bhat the Christian CenCer wants to be able to expand becaueP of the good results they s:•e having with their studenbs. Me. Haake eonmented on whether or not they have parking faailities for 328 and also aueationed tha reason bhey were granted only 75 st•udents with the origin~l Speelal Use Permit. Mr..Daire replied that there wae reslly no reaeon given other than the fact that the pastor waa asked whether ~5 was enough and he said yes, and that is :vhst ~hey were granted. Steve Roae stated that the City io not ooncerned with the traffia f7.ow. Mr. 'Lepper moved to increaae the ocoupancy to ~28 if the requiremente of a 1 huur fira oorridor of thd N.R. basement exit are made, and that the tunnel door gaing into the ohuroh were kept oloeed all the bime and that the ahurch basement and up etalra were not used foi~ etudent eduaation. Finally, the Planning Commieaion would like to recommend that slnce the City ia bringing on an inataff engineer June 28 tnat his firsi; priority wnuld be to work on a city street plan.
